The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research honored the Central Library of Al-Ameed University after it received the Higher Education Award for the Distinguished Academic Library of the Year 2024, during an award ceremony held at the headquarters of the Scientific Research Authority in Baghdad, as part of the events marking the Iraqi Science Day.
This achievement comes as a culmination of the continuous efforts exerted by the Al-Ameed University Library in developing its infrastructure and modernizing its administrative and academic systems in line with the requirements of contemporary university education.
The competition was based on precise standards set by the ministry, which included the number of printed and electronic publications, the quality of the library’s official website, the number of subscriptions to international publishing houses, the rate of external borrowing, and the diversity of information resources available to students and researchers.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Ameed University Library outperformed thirty-two central university libraries from various Iraqi universities, earning first place with merit — an achievement that adds to the university’s distinguished record of academic and research excellence.
